After School Academy Activities
The ASA program operates from the ASES grant. Every site has unique qualities, however, they follow the same general guidelines for providing a positive and stimulating learning environment.

The ASA program operates from the After School Education and Safety (ASES) Program grant.Every site has unique qualities, however, they follow the same general guidelines for providing a positive and stimulating learning environment.
Academic Enrichment
- A broad range of activities implemented are designed to reinforce core academic subjects: reading/language arts, mathematics, history, social studies, and science. Tutoring and/or homework assistance is available daily. Community partners offer additional services and activities such as visual and performing arts, music, career awareness, physical activity, work preparation, promotion of health/nutrition, etc.
Social Support
- Such activities involve positive reinforcement, behavior management activities, positive youth development strategies, problem solving techniques, sportsmanship practices in group recreation, small group discussions, promoting self confidence, student leadership, bullying and gang prevention. Other youth development activities are implemented based on student needs and interests.
