Principal’s Message
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our families who were able to participate in Connection Conferences this week. We appreciate you taking the time to come to campus, meet with our teachers and staff, and begin building a strong foundation for your child’s success this school year. Strong schools are built on strong partnerships, and we look forward to continuing to work together throughout the year to support our Hawks.
It has also been exciting to see our students digging into their grade-level content this week. Across campus, students are becoming familiar with new curriculum and diving deeper into their learning, especially in Math and English Language Arts. It is wonderful to see the curiosity, engagement, and effort our students are bringing to their classrooms as they begin developing new skills and knowledge.
At our Friday Assembly, we celebrated students by highlighting their growing understanding of our curriculum and giving them opportunities to share what they have been learning. Students who demonstrated their knowledge and participated in the discussion were rewarded with In-N-Out incentives. It was great to see our Hawks excited to share their learning and celebrate their hard work!
Next week, we return to our regular school schedule, with dismissal at 2:25 p.m. each day and our regular early-out Wednesday schedule with students exiting at 12:50 pm. Please plan accordingly for pickup. Thank you for your continued support, partnership, and commitment to Marina Vista. We hope everyone has a wonderful and restful weekend, and we look forward to seeing all of our Hawks back on campus Monday!

Marina Vista Earns Platinum PBIS Recognition!
|
We are incredibly excited to celebrate a wonderful accomplishment at Marina Vista! Our school has been awarded Platinum Status through California PBIS, the highest level of recognition for schools demonstrating strong Multi-Tiered Systems of Support for students.
PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) is a schoolwide approach that teaches, encourages, and supports positive behavior so students can feel safe, successful, and ready to learn. This achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire staff. A special shout-out to Olivia Cain, our 4th grade teacher and PBIS Coordinator, and our incredible PBIS Team for their leadership and commitment to making this accomplishment possible.
We are proud of our Hawks and grateful to have a team that believes in supporting the whole child.

Back to School Night - This is a quick reminder of our upcoming Back to School Night on Monday, August 31st from 5:30 - 7:00 PM. The evening is a great opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and our staff, learn about our school, our curriculum, meet community partners and get a glimpse of the year ahead. Starting at 6:15PM, we’ll be hosting an Ice Cream Social, sponsored by our PTO. It’s a perfect way to relax, connect with other families, and celebrate the start of the school year.
