This Week at Marina Vista!

9/11/26

Today, we pause as a community to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the courage and sacrifice of the first responders, survivors, volunteers, and families whose lives were forever changed that day. Twenty-five years later, the events of September 11 remain a powerful reminder of both profound loss and the incredible strength of people coming together in times of need.

This day holds a personal place in my memory because I was in New York on 9/11, just a few miles from the World Trade Center. I remember looking toward the skyline and seeing the towers on fire, feeling uncertainty, fear, and sadness as the events unfolded. In the days that followed, however, what stands out just as strongly in my memory is the brotherhood and sisterhood of community that emerged. People came together to help one another—regardless of race, creed, religion, or political affiliation. Firefighters, police officers, medical professionals, volunteers, neighbors, and complete strangers stood alongside one another and showed compassion, courage, and humanity.

It was community that helped so many people through those incredibly difficult days. As we remember September 11, may we never forget the importance of looking out for one another, extending kindness, and coming together when others need us most.

Here at Marina Vista, we strive to embody those same values of community every day. We take great pride in caring for one another, caring for our school, and making a positive difference in the world around us.

Together, we can make a difference in our school, our community, and our world.

Go Hawks!

Attendance Matters

Marina Vistas Daily Attendance Goal is 96% & Chronic Absenteeism Goal is 10% or Less

The graph represents Marina Vistas average daily attendance (ADA) for each day of the month, as well as our current chronic absenteeism (missing 10% or more of school) rate. Our daily attendance slipped a bit towards last week but we are back up this week. Please let us know how we can help.
