Principal’s Message
What a wonderful and busy week at Marina Vista! Our campus was filled with learning, fun, and opportunities for our students and staff to grow together.
This week, I had the opportunity to participate in collaborative instructional walks at several schools across MPUSD, including our Marina elementary schools. These walks are collaborative leadership learning experiences designed to strengthen adult learning in service of improving student outcomes. They give educators and school leaders dedicated time to build a shared understanding of high-quality instruction, strengthen instructional leadership practices, and create greater coherence across our district.
Our own Marina Vista Instructional Leadership Team, made up of many of our amazing teachers, also conducted instructional walks in classrooms across our campus. It was exciting to see our team learning from one another and observing student engagement, curriculum use, learning routines, and instructional strategies becoming solidified. These opportunities help us reflect, learn together, and continue strengthening the learning experiences we provide for every Hawk.
Our EcoHero assemblies were a huge hit! Students participated in a high-energy, interactive experience using music, dancing, and storytelling to learn about environmental sustainability and taking care of our world. It was wonderful to see our students engaged, enthusiastic, and thinking about the important role they play in caring for our planet. A special thank you to Mayor Bruce Delgado for joining us and spending time with our students and families. We appreciate your support of Marina Vista.
Thursday was Picture Day, and it was wonderful to see our Hawks dressed to impress and ready with their smiles! We hope everyone enjoyed this opportunity to capture a special memory from the school year. Next week, October 5–9, is Fall Break, so there will be no school all week. We hope our students and families enjoy some well-deserved time to relax, spend time together, and recharge.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday, October 12. Have a wonderful and safe Fall Break, Hawks!

October is: National Bullying Prevention MonthOctober is National Bullying Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness and promote kindness, acceptance, inclusion, and belonging. At Marina Vista, we believe that bullying has no place in our school community, and we will spend the month helping students understand the importance of treating others with kindness and respect. We will have a variety of activities, lessons, and presentations throughout the month to help our Hawks learn how to stand up for themselves and others, include one another, and make Marina Vista a place where everyone feels safe and valued.
Unity Day — Wednesday, October 21On Wednesday, October 21, 2026, Marina Vista will celebrate Unity Day! Students and staff are encouraged to wear orange to show that we stand together for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion and against bullying.
Let's continue to take care of ourselves, take care of each other, and take care of our community.
