November a Time for GratitudeDear Marina Vista Families and Community,
As we turn the calendar to November, we are looking forward to a month centered on gratitude, kindness, and lifting one another up! At Marina Vista, we have so much to be thankful for, especially the wonderful students, dedicated staff, supportive families, and community partners who make our school such a special place. This month, we will be encouraging our Hawks to recognize the good in others, celebrate acts of kindness, and find opportunities to show appreciation. A simple thank-you, a helping hand, or a few encouraging words can make someone's day.
We invite our families to join us next Tuesday, November 10, for two opportunities to connect and stay involved in all things Marina Vista! Your voice, ideas, and involvement help make our school community stronger and we hope to see you there!
As we move through November, daily attendance continues to be a priority. Every day in the classroom provides valuable opportunities for students to build skills, participate in lessons, collaborate with classmates, and develop confidence as learners. Even missing a day here and there can add up to lost instructional time and missed learning experiences.
We understand that families sometimes face challenges that make getting to school difficult. Please reach out if there is something we can do to help support your child's consistent attendance. We are here to partner with you! As always, thank you for being part of our Marina Vista family. We are grateful for the energy, encouragement, and care you bring to our school each day. Let's make November a month filled with appreciation, positive connections, and plenty of reasons to celebrate one another!
Have a wonderful weekend, Hawks! |

Marina Vista's Daily Attendance Goal is 96% & Chronic Absenteeism Goal is 10% or Less
|
The graph below represents Marina Vista's average daily attendance (ADA) for each day of the month, as well as our current chronic absenteeism (missing 10% or more of school) rate. Please let us know how we can support you in getting to school daily, and on time. This month so far we have moved further away from the green. Let's work on arriving on time and being at school each day. Be sure to ask our team about Short Term Independent Study if you are in need and or Saturday Academy.
Parent-Teacher Conferences Our upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences will take place during the week of November 16–20. Please mark your calendars! Students will have minimum days throughout conference week, so be sure to plan accordingly for the adjusted dismissal schedule. These conferences are an important opportunity to connect with your child's teacher, celebrate progress, discuss learning goals, and work together to support continued growth. Be sure to sign up with your child's teacher.
