Music Program
All 4th and 5th grade students are offered music at Marina. Once a week they meet with a credentialed music teacher for forty-five minutes. Students rotate in groups depending on which instrument they have chosen to play. The focus of this music introduction is to prepare students for further music instruction in Middle School, where they may enroll in music class.
Elementary Instrumental Music Program Gets New Violins
The Elementary Instrumental Music Program serves over 800 students in 4th and 5th grades within MPUSD. Fundraisers are held periodically in order to support the music program with the purchase or replacement of musical instruments. Over the summer, Mr. James Paoletti and Ms. Maria Carney sold t-shirts to support the program. The funds raised were given to the Education Foundation who then purchased and donated 14 Stentor violins. This wonderful gift will be used to teach violin to MPUSD's elementary students.
